Standards of Practice
Good Laboratory Practice Standards (GLPS) is a compliance monitoring program that ensures the quality and integrity of test data submitted to the Joint Commission accreditation agency and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). Proficiency testing is to ensure our compliance with The Joint Commission accreditation. Data obtained through laboratory inspections and data audits is used by the agencies to regulate our laboratory quality of patient services.
About Our Laboratory Team
Our laboratory team is proficient across all lab functions, including hematology, chemistry, and microbiology.
Lab technicians mostly analyze urine, tissue, and blood samples to determine the presence of infection, bacteria, or other abnormalities. These results will then be made available to the physician who ordered testing on the patient’s behalf.
Some laboratory screenings are available within thirty minutes of testing, but often samples take up to two days to process.
Palestine Regional Medical Center is committed to providing the best laboratory services possible.
